On Thursday 25 July the NSW Committee said good bye and thank you to Dr Bruce Standen.
Bruce resigned as Coordinator of the NSW Committee of the Crawford Fund, a position he has held for 13 years since the Committee was established. In those 13 years he made a remarkable contribution to the Crawford Fund training, development and mentoring programs, in the NSW Committee as well as in the Crawford Fund Executive Management team meetings over the years. Bruce will remain in the NSW Committee as a member.
Bruce’s association with agriculture and international agricultural research extends well beyond his tenure with the Fund and several people at a lunch after the meeting, including Richard Sheldrake from NSW DPI, spoke favourably of his contribution over the past decades.
The Chair of the NSW Committee, the Hon. John Anderson in thanking Bruce for his dedicated service, announced at the same meeting that Dr Helen Scott-Orr will succeed Bruce as Coordinator. We are sure that Helen will be a worthy successor.
