Learning about opportunities to work in, with and for developing countries

One aspect of our annual conferences that has really taken hold is the encouragement for young people with an interest in international agricultural research and development to attend, network and learn more about study and careers in a related field. We supported 26 young scientists from around Australia to attend the conference this year and organised a special, free ‘Scholar’s Day’ to which they and other students were invited. The special effort from students who funded themselves to attend from a range of universities, including University of Western Sydney and the University of Sydney, was particularly appreciated.
The following is a report from the University of Sydney students, and we have reports to come from our own 2014 Young Crawford Scholars and also some great videos developed by the UWS students to profile in the coming weeks.
