New CEO at the Crawford Fund

August 14, 2024

The Crawford Fund welcomed Shaun Coffey as its new Chief Executive Officer at its 2024 Annual Conference earlier this month.

An agronomist and geneticist by training, Shaun brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this role, having made significant contributions to agribusiness, science, and technology across several sectors.

Shaun’s distinguished career includes serving as the Foundation Chief of the CSIRO Division of Livestock Industries from 2002 to 2006 and as CEO of the NZ Crown entity, Industrial Research Ltd, from 2007 to 2013. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of disciplines and context, making him well-suited to lead the Crawford Fund in its mission to support Australian engagement in agricultural research for development.

In addition to this new role, Shaun Coffey continues to serve on the Boards of the Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre and the Grains Research and Development Corporation, and provides advisory services on governance, strategy and capacity-building in research and development to a range of Australian and international organisations.

As CEO, Shaun will provide leadership to grow the Fund’s impact and extend its legacy of supporting agricultural research for development.
