Food and nutrition security is an active discussion point across the community and school classrooms around the globe. How are we going to sustainably feed the world? It is a hot topic for school students, and the Crawford Fund has developed curriculum-aligned resources and assessment rubrics to support educators in embedding contemporary case studies from the Asia Pacific into their classrooms.
The Crawford Fund’s Development for a Better Future resources will be presented at the Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia’s conference in Canberra next week (1 May).
The aim of the workshop is to:
This conference is a precursor to a series of workshops and webinars the Crawford Fund is delivering over the coming months. On the 25th of May, a webinar – Real Resources for a Sustainable Future, will be presented in partnership with the Asia Education Foundation. The webinar will focus on climate-smart technologies in agriculture, and educators will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of Ag Tech experts.
On 8 June, the Crawford Fund will host a workshop – Development for a Better Future – focusing on career pathways in agriculture and how the resources can support and stretch student thinking and experiences. Later in the month, active learning workshops will be shared with agriculture teachers in Goulburn.
We look forward to working with teachers and career advisors to create opportunities and showcase student activations so they can lead in developing a better future in our region. Hearing how the materials have affected students to date is really encouraging!
Thank you to the Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia for the opportunity to present to their conference participants.
