The Crawford Fund QLD Committee supports targeted training and mentoring of overseas scientists and extension officers by experienced Queensland counterparts working on similar agricultural research challenges.
In 2023, the Queensland Committee will again be offering a small number of Crawford-in-Queensland International Engagement Awards.

“The committee is pleased to be supporting a diverse set of training and mentoring in industries of significance to both Queensland and neighbouring countries, including Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific and Indonesia,” said Professor Bob Lawn, Coordinator of the Queensland Committee.
Further specific enquiries can be directed to the Queensland Coordinator, Prof Bob Lawn at bob (dot) lawn (at) crawfordfund (dot) org
The open call for applications for the 2023 awards closes on 31 March 2023.
Here is a report on the international engagement award to Dr Kathy Drew from the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, who mentored and collaborated with Dr Maurice Wong and his colleagues from the Direction de l’Agriculture in French Polynesia to halt the spread of the devastating banana bunchy top virus – a good example of a great win-win biosecurity story, with benefits both for the South Pacific and for the Qld banana industry.
Congratulations To Our 2022 Crawford-In-Queensland International Engagement Award Winners!
