Our 2022 conference “Celebrating Agriculture for Development: Outcomes, Impact and the Way Ahead” was indeed a great opportunity to celebrate the Crawford Fund’s 35th and ACIAR’s 40th anniversaries.
While we were able to provide our speakers’ presentations during the week of the event, as well as the video of the Sir John Crawford Address and of the presentation to our Crawford Fund Medallists, we are now pleased to have the Crawford Fund’s 2022 annual conference full proceedings now available. You will also find individual papers listed under each of the presenters in our Speakers and Chairs section of the conference website.
For those who were not able to attend, the aim of our 2022 conference was not only to look at the mutual benefit and impacts of Australian investment on global food security and poverty alleviation in the last three and-a-half decades, but also to consider the effects of emerging threats including climate change and changing geo-political conditions on agricultural production, food chains and the environment.
Understanding these threats and adapting Australia’s research and our capacity building program to deal with them leaves us with a better chance of concluding in another 35 years’ time that we continue to do well by doing good.
These proceedings now provide an enduring record of the keynote speeches, overview presentations and case studies, and includes all conference papers, and the Sir John Crawford Address.
Once again, the Crawford Fund would like to thank our generous sponsors, including those who supported our scholar program, back after a COVID absence.
The Fund appreciates the patience and enormous effort put into our conference proceedings by editor Ann Milligan.
The proceedings will also be made available through AgEcon Search, a free-to-user Web site that contains the full text of working papers, conference papers and journal articles; and through CAB Direct, a source of reference in the applied life sciences – it’s great to have the opportunity to further spread the reach of what attendees reported were very interesting addresses.
Our 2023 Annual Conference dates are 4 and 5 September and stay tuned for further details of what will be another very special event bringing a focus on food and nutrition security.
