Senior Manager Biosecurity and Regulation, GRDC
Ken Young is the GRDC Senior Manager Biosecurity and Regulation. In this role, Ken steers the Australian grains investments in biosecurity and chemical regulation such as preparedness for exotic plant pests, agricultural chemical registration and grains permit applications, chemical stewardship innovative plant protection investments and grains investment in the far northern Australia. Ken’s undergraduate was from QAC, Gatton College. His PhD was in seed ecology of the weed, wild radish. During his career, Ken has worked a weeds agronomist throughout eastern Australia including the Northern Territory and Tasmania. Prior to joining GRDC, Ken worked for 5 years with the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority and 8 years an agronomy lecturer for the University of Melbourne.
