The Crawford Fund, founded in 1987, is celebrating 35 years of outcomes and impacts in 2022. We can add in ACIAR’s 40th birthday this year for good measure! These milestones provide a wonderful opportunity for this year’s event not just to celebrate the benefits, impact and success of the past but to identify future challenges and consider the effects of emerging threats including climate change and emerging geo-political conditions on agricultural production, food chains and the environment in the quest for improving food and nutrition security.

With the difficulties that COVID-19 has brought for many, we have once again maintained the same level of conference registration fees, with special discounts for students and concession card holders. And with the success of last year’s first hybrid event, we are also offering an online option.

We will be continuing our successful Conference Scholars Program, which started in 2010 and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The program this year not only offers 50 young researchers and scientists the opportunity to engage in the conference and the separate scholar activities, it also connects them with established mentors in their field. We hope many who attend the conference will donate to the program and volunteer as mentors when they are prompted in the registration process.
