E-mentoring continues momentum

While welcoming the gradual re-opening of global travel, the Crawford Fund is continuing to harness the momentum of its e-mentoring initiative. We launched our E-mentoring Program in June 2020 to ensure that we continued to help develop the technical and organisational skills and expertise of agricultural researchers, scientists and policy makers in developing countries despite the challenges of the global pandemic.
We are now very pleased to introduce you to the latest group of 18 pairs of e-mentors and e-mentees.
Our mentors’ experience and expertise sees them well placed to support mentees who have requested interest in topics as broad as climate change impacts, climate-smart agriculture, managing plant genetic resources, tissue culture handling, soil fertility, resource management, taxonomy and systematics, alternatives to synthetic pesticides, innovative approaches in community development and networking skills.
The e-mentoring program includes online training for e-mentors and discussions about the mindset, skills and techniques of mentoring to better equip them to start a successful relationship with their mentee.

The e-mentoring program builds on the successful outcomes of our long term existing Mentoring Program, which has seen face-to-face interaction in overseas countries, backed up by electronic contact, and the Fund’s conference scholar mentoring program, matching young NextGen researchers with experienced Australians who attend our conference.
Our e-mentors and e-mentees have our very best wishes for successful collaboration and learning over the coming months.
