Vale Hon Tim Mulherin

Members of our Queensland Committee and the wider Crawford Fund community were saddened by the untimely passing of former Queensland Committee member, the Hon Tim Mulherin. Tim, who had been MLA for Mackay in the Queensland Parliament for 20 years and served in various ministerial roles prior to his retirement in 2015, joined the Queensland Committee in 2018.

The chair of the Queensland Committee, Professor Kaye Basford, said that Tim joined the Committee to support the work of the Crawford Fund in promoting sustainable food security in developing countries in our region.

“As a former Queensland Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries and later, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Regional Economies, Tim understood the important role played by primary industry in Queensland as well as in the rural economies in nearby developing countries.”  

Unfortunately, Tim’s work with the Committee was cut short by illness.
