Our NT Committee has put out a call for applications of up to $15,000 to support training in agricultural research for developing country scientists.
The NT Committee’s geographical focus is eastern Indonesia, Timor Leste and Papua New Guinea, however high quality applications for other countries within the scope of the Australian aid program may be considered. Applications close on 20 September.
“Training must be through an NT based organisation or nominator, and can be carried out in-country or in Australia,” explained NT Coordinator, Tania Paul.
“Activities should address an existing and significant gap in research capability, capacity, techniques or technologies and trainees should be associated with a relevant national agricultural R&D organisation or program” said Tania.
In assessing applications, the committee considers:
– Likelihood of impact on individual, organization and country
– Affordability and cost-effectiveness
– Co-funded activities preferred
– High participant/ trainer ratio
– An appropriate length enabling meaningful transfer of skills and knowledge
– Does not duplicate or double up on other activities
– Does not disadvantage Australian farmers
Forms are available on request here. Should you have and queries, please contact the NT Coordinator, Tania Paul on 0438 617600 or via email or Marchien Van Oostende at her email.
